Adaptive mode reads the noise around you and sets the cancellation level by itself. Custom mode gives you 5 levels, and higher levels cut more low-frequency noise. The ANC targets low and mid-frequency sound such as car and airplane engines. Soundcore says voices are reduced but not removed.
Press the NC button to cycle through Noise Cancelling, Transparency and Normal, in that order. Noise Cancelling is the default. In the app, you set the ANC and Transparency levels and reassign button functions under Controls.
LDAC sends 3 times more audio data than standard Bluetooth codecs, per Soundcore. It works with Android phones that support it. Turn it on in the app under Settings, Sound Mode, Preferred Audio Quality. LDAC switches off while two devices are connected, because of Bluetooth bandwidth limits.
To add a second device, keep the first one connected and press the power button twice. The LED flashes blue, and you select “soundcore Space Q45” on the second device. With two devices already connected, disconnect one first, on the device or in the app.
Press the power button for 2 seconds to turn the headphones on or off. Press Play/Pause twice to start Siri or your phone’s voice assistant. Hold Volume Up for 2 seconds to skip forward and Volume Down for 2 seconds to go back.
The call microphone sits at the front of the right ear cup, so wear the cups on the correct sides. Turn on ANC during calls in noisy places to cut background noise.
Plug in the included 3.5mm AUX cable for wired listening. A short press of the NC button turns on noise cancelling in wired mode.
The headphones do not play audio while charging. Soundcore recommends a 5V wall charger. Charging takes longer in cold rooms. Soundcore lists no water resistance rating. Wipe the leather with a cotton cloth after a sweaty session, because stored sweat causes mould and discolouration.
To reset, hold the power button and Volume Up together for 5 seconds. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
