The Anker Soundcore Motion X500 is a portable Bluetooth speaker with 40W of 3-channel spatial audio. Two side drivers play the left and right channels, and an upward-firing driver adds a sky channel for sound above you. A single Motion X500 plays in stereo: the left side carries the left channel and the right side carries the right. The upward-firing driver adds height to the sound. Spatial audio works with any music source, with no special format needed.
Press the EQ button to cycle through three sound modes. The Sky Light on top changes colour to show which one is active:
- Spatial Signature: white light
- Spatial Dynamic: cool white light
- Bass Boost: warm white light
Change the Sky Light colour in the soundcore app.
LDAC sends 3 times more data than the standard SBC codec. It works with Android 8.0 or later phones, not iPhone. Turn it on in the app under Settings, Sound Mode, Preferred Audio Quality. The switch takes about 10 seconds. LDAC uses more power and holds a steadier connection with little Bluetooth interference around.
IPX7 means the speaker survives immersion in water. Fasten the waterproof cover on the back securely before it goes near water.
Press the Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode, then select “soundcore Motion X500” on your phone. It plays from one device at a time, so pause the active device before you play from another.
For stereo with two speakers, connect one Motion X500 to your phone, then hold the Bluetooth button on both for 2 seconds. You hear a tone when they pair. The main speaker plays the left channel and the second plays the right, and both play the sky channel with spatial audio on. The Motion X500 pairs only with another Motion X500.
Button controls:
- Power: press to turn on, hold 2 seconds to turn off
- Play/Pause: press once to play, pause, answer or end a call. Press twice to skip forward, three times to go back. Hold 2 seconds to reject a call
- EQ: press to switch sound modes
- Volume Up and Down: press to change volume
- Bluetooth: press to pair, hold 2 seconds for stereo pairing
With no device connected for 20 minutes, the speaker turns off. Set a different time in the app. Turn off the power and Bluetooth tones in the app too.
To reset, turn the speaker on, then hold the Bluetooth button and Volume Up together for 5 to 10 seconds. You hear a tone and it restarts.
