The Boom 3i rights itself in water and keeps its sound facing up and forward, even in waves. Close the USB port cover fully before it goes near water.
Soundcore coats the casing to resist seawater, sweat and salt spray. In its lab test, the speaker passed 240 hours of salt spray, which Soundcore puts at 5 times the industry average.
BassUp 2.0 lifts bass power by 3dB across the 56Hz to 20kHz range compared with Soundcore’s benchmark. Press the BassUp button to turn it on or off.
Hold the BassUp button for 5 seconds to sound the 96dB emergency alarm, which Soundcore says carries up to 100 metres. Press any button to stop it. Change the alarm sound and duration in the app.
Buzz Clean plays sound at set frequencies to shake sand and dust out of the speaker. Turn it on in the app.
The Voice Amplifier records a voice message in the app and plays it through the speaker. It does not play your voice in real time.
The speaker’s sides light up in 6 music-synced effects and 4 static ambient effects. Press the light button to turn the lights on and switch effects. Hold it for 2 seconds to turn them off.
Press the Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode, then select “soundcore Boom 3i” on your phone. It connects to 2 devices at once, and audio switches to whichever device starts playing.
For stereo, connect one Boom 3i to your phone, then hold the Bluetooth button on both speakers for 2 seconds. The main speaker plays the left channel and the second plays the right. For a bigger setup, keep one speaker connected to your phone and press the PartyCast button on each Soundcore PartyCast speaker. Lights do not sync with other models.
Button controls:
- Power: press to turn on, hold 2 seconds to turn off
- Play/Pause: press once to play or pause, twice to skip forward, three times to go back
- Volume Up and Down: press to change volume
- Bluetooth: press to pair, hold 2 seconds for stereo pairing
- PartyCast: press to start or end PartyCast
Use a charger rated between 0.05W and 15W. With no audio or connection for 20 minutes, the speaker turns off. Change this in the app. Keep it away from open flames.
To reset, hold the Bluetooth button and Volume Up together for at least 4 seconds.
