BassUp 2.0 deepens the bass and raises output from 60W to 80W at one press of the BassUp button.
IPX7 means the speaker survives immersion in water, and it floats. Seal the waterproof cover tightly before it goes into a pool or near the beach.
Plug your phone into the USB-A port to charge it from the speaker’s battery at 5W.
The RGB lights on both sides change with the music. Hold the BassUp button for 2 seconds to switch between the 7 light effects. Press it twice to turn the lights on or off.
Press the Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode, then select “soundcore Boom 2” on your phone. It reconnects to the last device you used when you turn it on. It plays from one device at a time, so pause the active device before you play from another.
Soundcore has released two versions of the Boom 2:
- Current version: Bluetooth 6.0 with Auracast. Links with the Boom 2 Plus, other Auracast Boom 2 units, Boom Go 3i, Rave 3 and Rave 3S
- Earlier version: Bluetooth 5.3 with PartyCast 2.0. Links with up to 100 PartyCast speakers, such as the Boom 3i, Flare 2, Glow Mini and Select 3
The two versions do not pair with each other, in stereo or multi-speaker mode.
For stereo, turn on two Boom 2 speakers of the same version, then hold the Bluetooth button on both until the light flashes white. A tone confirms pairing. The main speaker plays the left channel and the second plays the right.
For Auracast on the current version, connect one speaker to your phone and leave the others unconnected. Press the Auracast button on each speaker. A tone confirms when they link. When linking with a Rave 3 or Rave 3S, set the Boom 2 as the secondary speaker.
Button controls:
- Power: press or hold 2 seconds to turn on, hold 2 seconds to turn off
- Play/Pause: press once to play, pause, answer or end a call. Press twice to skip forward, three times to go back. Hold 2 seconds to reject a call or start your phone’s voice assistant
- BassUp: press to turn BassUp 2.0 on or off
- Volume Up and Down: press to change volume
- Bluetooth: press to pair, hold 2 seconds for stereo pairing
With no audio for 20 minutes, the speaker turns off. Set a different time in the app. If you store it for a long time, recharge it every 3 months.
To reset, hold the Bluetooth button and Volume Up together for 5 to 10 seconds. You hear a tone and the speaker restarts.
